So, who am I exactly, and why should you consider purchasing the Keystone Financial Guide? Both are valid questions!
My education and work experience are that of an engineer. I have a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering and a master’s degree in engineering management.
Growing up near New York City in the early 1990s, I really should have gone to work on Wall Street, but thought airplanes were way cooler, so engineering and technical entrepreneurship ended up being my career; however, finance and investing turned into what amounted to a second job, and often the primary passion.
I started in my early 20s, and ended up trying just about every investing approach with varying levels of success. It was an expensive way to educate myself, but the valuable knowledge and lessons stayed with me for a lifetime.
To feed this interest in investing (and later real estate), and to also formalize my knowledge, I began to accrue a collection of licenses and side gigs. I became a practicing real estate agent, life insurance agent, and financial advisor. Do any of these licenses really mean anything though? Not really. They are all pieces of paper that say I tested well and know a certain minimum according to the relevant state agencies. My real authority to speak on the subjects in this book comes from experience of “doing” and endless self-education. Over time, I got into the habit of relentlessly researching any financial or real estate topic I was interested in, and then applying the theory to reality. This eventually became second full-time career.
Finally, after years of being the go-to “answer man” on how to start up a business, investing, and other financial matters for friends, coworkers, family, and of course clients, I decided to write it all down. I instructed some technical courses earlier in my career, and have been published on other topics for many years, so why not teach again and write a comprehensive book on entrepreneurship, personal finance, investing, real estate, and insurance? It was about time others benefitted from my hard-earned experience, and I didn’t see too many such comprehensive books on the market.
The Keystone Financial Guide is the result. It is a “brain dump” of over 25 years of financial knowledge and practice, all rolled into an easy-to-read and practical guide built on some significant trial and error. For the few subjects that I wasn’t able to try my hand at, I researched or consulted with authorities in that field. As a result, all the information here is vetted, checked, and verified. It has worked for me, and will work for you. May it serve you well in your own quest for financial independence and success!
